Senior Manager, Alberta Operations

The Senior Manager, Alberta Operations position is based out of Circle CRM Group’s Calgary head office. Travel to and from the Edmonton office will be required from time to time in addition to field work in a supervisory or Permit Holder role as required during field season. The off season will involve various duties including but not limited to report writing, team management, and process improvements. The role of the Senior Manager, Alberta Operations is to ensure efficient and effective completion of Alberta projects and high levels of customer experience.

Essential responsibilities (and associated duties/tasks)

Drive and strive for the best customer service:

  • Responding to requests within 24 hours
  • Proactive and transparent communication with clients, government, and staff, managing expectations
  • Project pre-field and post-field coordination, including coordinating with client and staff as necessary to ensure clear communication and expectations for both parties
  • Regular check-ins with project leads to ensure projects are being completed on time and on budget

Be a leader, leading by example, as well as through mentorship and coaching:

  • Regular check-ins with mentees

  • Building new relationships and networking through industry associations and functions to drive new opportunities.
  • Improve bidding process and understanding the competitive environment to maximize billable rates.

Business Development:

Additional responsibilities

  • Report writing and editing
  • Industry knowledge: stays current with professional and personal development from a management and industry point of view
  • Available for troubleshooting and project management on evenings and weekends while crews are in the field

Qualifications

Must haves:

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology
  • 12+ years experience in Western Canadian archaeology or equivalent
  • Permit holder in good standing with AB regulator
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, ArcGIS
  • Extensive working knowledge of AB regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communicator
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Ability to work cooperatively, support and coach co-workers in a positive team environment and share work expertise and knowledge
